Unique affinity resin—blue resins

In a downstream processing lab, various resins can be found for the purification of different bio-substances. For the resins in the bottles, some of them are bright and clear, some are in white color, which makes a Cibacron Blue resin really stand out and get your attention. In this article, we are going to introduce the special resin---blue resin.
To put it simply, blue resin is an affinity resin using Cibacron Blue 3GA dye molecules as ligands. The natural blue of dye molecules gives the resin its unique blue color, giving its name of ‘Blue resin’.
Application
Cibacron Blue 3GA molecules are anthraquinone derivatives, which have amino, sulfonic and phenyl groups as well as nucleotide specificity, ions and hydrophobic capture proteins in the structure of molecules[1]. Generally speaking, blue resin can specifically bind interferons and other plasma proteins in addition to albumins. Besides, it enjoys excellent binding capacity towards various proteases including dehydrogenase, kinase, transferase as well as most adenylate-containing coenzymes including NAD+.
Bestchrom offers 4 types of blue resins, namely, Blue Bestarose FF, Blue Bestarose HP, Diamond Blue and Diamond Blue Mustang. Refer to the following table for technical parameters of resin.
